Kara Garcia is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over a decade of experience in critical care. Prior to entering the field of mental health, she provided care in high-acuity environments, including the Neuroscience Critical Care Unit with Emory School of Medicine, the Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU at Emory University Hospital, and the Medical ICU at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
Kara specializes in treating healthcare-related trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia. She brings a compassionate, patient-focused approach to her practice, rooted in truly listening to her clients’ experiences, emotions, and goals. Her treatment plans are customized and collaborative, incorporating both medication management and non-pharmacologic strategies to support holistic well-being.
Kara also integrates lab work and biological markers to better understand and address the underlying causes of mental health symptoms—helping to treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
